James Purvis - Managing Director

James has over 20 years' experience in the insurance industry in the UK and USA, and has held senior positions with both insurance brokers and underwriters in client management and technical roles. James has worked with many organisations, advising on insurance-risk management and procurement strategy, broker performance and risk transfer programme design. He is an experienced project manager who has an extensive knowledge of the insurance industry.

James has developed many of the specialist consultancy services we deliver and is seen within the industry as a thought leader on the subject of broker and insurer performance.

Ashley Canning - Director

Ashley has over 23 years experience in the insurance industry and has worked for both insurers and brokers. The majority of this time has been spent with a property insurance broking specialist where Ashley fulfilled a number of senior roles including CEO prior to the sale of the business. Ashley has particular expertise in strategic planning, information technology and insurance service delivery to both UK and Global organisations.

This depth of experience coupled with high level project management skills provides our clients with the accurate and practical advice they value.

Philip Millar - Consultant

Philip has over 35 years' experience in the insurance sector. During the past 20 years, he has acted as a senior client director at a major global broking house in the City of London. He has advised numerous FTSE 250 organisations on their risk management and risk financing needs and has specialist knowledge of a number of industry sectors including transportation, security, retail, utilities and food and beverage companies.

Philip has gained particular expertise in the placement and management of multinational programmes, working closely with risk managers in a number of countries. He has also advised a number of Global Insurance Brokers on service level best practice.

 

Stavros Papagiannopoulos - Regional Director SE Europe 

Stavros was, for 23 years, Chairman and CEO of the Greek and Cypriot subsidiaries of a major global broking house. He has extensive experience in the design, planning and execution of risk management and insurance programs of large organizations and has been involved in numerous risk management projects for large global or local groups in the region.

Stavros is a Labor Economist, holding a BA from the University of Athens/Law School, an MA from the University of Kent and has been lecturing for 8 years at the University of Piraeus. He is a CIRM and has been lecturing for 17 years at the Hellenic Institute of Insurance Studies. He is regularly published in the Greek financial press with articles relating to best practices in risk management.

Tom Curtiss - North American Regional Director 

Tom is a highly experienced professional with over 35 years of experience in the insurance industry. He has held senior management and client relationship positions with major global broking houses, including the position of Vice Chairman. He specializes in the design and administration of US workers compensation programs for large multinational companies. He has also supervised the US risk management programs of numerous European and Canadian based clients. Tom has served on the Board of Directors of many non profit organizations, giving him a unique insight into their risk management needs.Tom has a BA in Foreign Languages from the University of Pennsylvania and holds an MBA in International Finance from The Wharton School. He served with the US Army prior to entering the insurance industry.

Henry L. Good - North American Regional Director

Henry has been involved in insurance and risk management, both as a buyer and consultant, for over 25 years. Henry was Director of Insurance for the Rohm and Haas Company, a global specialty chemical manufacturing company for 18 years. After a short stint working as a broker, Henry recognized the need in the current risk management consulting field for individuals with a solid understanding of the needs of the Risk Manager. Having sat in the Risk Managers chair Henry brings a particularly unique perspective of the needs of a risk manager.

Henry is a graduate of The George Washington University. He also served in the U.S. Army Medical Service Corps during the Vietnam War where he attained the rank of Captain. He was also a 13 year member of the prestigious M200 Group

Chris Snell - Consultant

Chris has worked for over 30 years in the insurance industry, enjoying a variety of senior roles; ranging from general underwriting, insurance programme design, project management and client relationship management. This extensive understanding of the insurance industry and detailed technical knowledge is highly valued by our clients.

A regular speaker at insurance market conferences and seminars, Chris is passionate about improving standards and increasing knowledge across the insurance industry.

Ian Searle - Consultant

Ian has held senior risk management roles in a variety of industry sectors over his 30 year career.  His knowledge covers the full spectrum of commercial risk management ranging from risk financing programmes through loss prevention, major claims management and contract risk assessment.  During his career he has gained experience of working in fast-changing business environments and is an author on various risk management topics

 


Vanessa Hodgkin - Office Administrator

Vanessa has worked for over 15 years in the financial services industry, in customer services, operations and project management roles. Vanessa ensures the efficient operation of the business.
